What will you do in an average week? 
  • Work at an influential level reporting directly to the Head of Merchandise
  • Be pushing the boundaries of excellence by further developing and executing first class assortment and merchandise planning, inventory strategies and initiatives to the business
  • Developing ranges, promotions, pricing and merchandise strategies will be a key focus as will developing new initiatives and implementing programs that continually enhance the value proposition and sales and profit growths.
  • Be ensuring the actions are in place to deliver sales, income and inventory targets that will continue to positively impact store and category performance. 
 
Here's what it will take: 
  • Proven success as a Category Manager within a FMCG (or related) Retailer.  You will be an inspirational retail merchant with a solid understanding of category management principles, adept at defining and aligning a category strategy that has realised performance within a fast paced and rapidly expanding environment.
  • Ideally you will have had experience in an independent, member driven, franchise model, where an 'influencing' style has been key. Those with more corporate retail backgrounds however will also be considered. 
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills to create 'win-win' outcomes.
  • Equally happy to work strategically as you are to 'roll your sleeves up.'
  • Commercial, energetic, down-to-earth yet strategic and innovative.
