What will you do in an average week?
  • Define category strategy to ensure continued growth in a competitive market
  • Work cross functionally to lead the engagement with internal stakeholders in merchandise planning, private label, product development, space planning and marketing to drive results
  • Present new partnering ideas and concepts to suppliers to drive business and maximize income.  
  • Make key ranging decisions  
  • Plan promotional activity with suppliers to promote the launch of new products and support existing business
Here's what it will take: 
  • You are an inspirational senior retail merchant with a solid understanding of category management principles within grocery or FMCG. Although not essential,  experience within an omnichannel retailer would be advantageous.
  • The ability to engage, negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • The know-how and confidence to spearhead the direction, strategies and initiatives for some of the businesses most high profile categories
  • Skill sets in inventory management, negotiating and building supplier relationships, however it is your 'eye for commercial ranging' and developing solution based category plans that set you apart from your peers.
  • Ability to thrive in periods of change and ambiguity. You just get on with it!
  • Have drive, determination and commitment that inspires others
  • You listen and others listen to you; your natural style is collaborative.
