Marketing Manager - Events & Communities

Location:

Melbourne

Specialisation:

Marketing / Digital / E-Commerce

Job type:

Full Time
The Role
This is not a typical marketing role, it's for a highly passionate leader who thrives on pace, energy and impact, and wants to be the driving force behind how a brand shows up in the room, not just on the page.
You'll own a busy national events calendar, spanning multiple well-known brands across the trade and consumer space, and become the single point of contact for how they come to life at every activation.

You'll be in the middle of it all:
events, agencies, ambassadors, budgets and execution.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • A newly created role with real scope to shape how it grows
  • 30 to 40 major events a year across a network with huge reach
  • Genuine ownership of brand presence at events and activations
  • A new e-commerce platform build underway, with social playing a key role
  • Work with a broad portfolio of agencies, from stand builders to content specialists
  • Direct commercial impact, not just activity
This is a role centred around events and community leadership, not content admin.

About the Business

Its ASX-listed, with serious scale behind it and it has a large national footprint across both B2B and B2C channels. This is a business well recognised for setting the pace in its category, backed by a continued investment in resources. Currently doubling down on growth, there couldn't be a more opportune time to join.

What You'll Do
  • Own the major events calendar end to end: logistics, budgets, suppliers and on-the-day delivery
  • Act as the single point of contact for events, coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Manage a portfolio of external agencies, including a social-first agency handling day-to-day content
  • Own social media strategy and hold agencies and internal teams accountable for execution
  • Build and grow community engagement, working with brand ambassadors, influencers and sponsorship partners
  • Represent the brand at major industry events and conferences, bringing back fresh thinking on how the market is innovating
  • Support the rollout of a new e-commerce platform, with social playing a key role in the customer journey
What You Bring
  • A dedicated background in events, activations and project management (this is a specialist role, not a generalist marketing one)
  • A genuine, demonstrated understanding of social media as a strategic channel, with the confidence to brief and hold agencies accountable
  • Military-grade organisation: you anticipate what could go wrong and plan for it well before it happens
  • A natural people person who builds rapport fast and represents a brand well
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with agencies and multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Genuine energy for face-to-face engagement at events, including interstate travel
You move fast. You plan ahead of everyone else in the room. You make events happen; as you are always one step ahead.

If you're looking for a role where events, social and community actually matter, and you get to own how they show up, this could be one of your most career-defining moves.
