The role
As the National Operations Manager – Automotive, Trade & Industrial
you will ensure the Branch network achieves its growth and development objectives whilst also enhancing customer experiences and setting a foundation for future growth and success in the Automotive & Industrial market segments. More specifically you will:
  • Lead and manage the Branch network and develop the sales and Branch operations teams. A core focus will be on optimising the operating formula, increasing share within the industrial market and replicating this formula for new Branch openings as the business expands its network further
  • Establish key performance measures, targets and activity plans in accordance with the organisations business plans, while ensuring the plans have the flexibility to adapt to market opportunities and ongoing changes in conditions and segments
  • Drive national brand marketing strategies, increasing market awareness and driving share of customer wallet
  • Be mentoring, developing and coaching your Branch Managers and building a team culture that focuses on delivering customer service excellence at every touchpoint.
You 
  • You have the right experience: You have likely held a Head of/National Operations/Multi site role in a B2B organisation that has a Branch network, where you have been fully accountable for the Branch networks P&L.  
  • You have led transformational change, and driven key  business/customer outcomes resulting in greater operational efficiencies and outcomes for a Branch network.
  • You have an understanding of the industrial marketplace, as well as exposure to the automotive aftermarket category (or similar). This will ensure you can ‘hit the ground running.’
  • You are proven: in your ability to articulate a clear vision and play a hands-on role in creating a strategy (i.e. the “how”) for the Branch Network/B2B operations, driving transformation and implementing new ways of working
  • You have the full set of technical skills: surrounding financial management and literacy, sales and marketing, stakeholder engagement, strategy and planning, people management and operational excellence. A leadership style and interpersonal approach that places people at the forefront will be key
  • Your stakeholder and relationships management skills are ‘next level.’ You can influence, deliver and drive sustainable profitable outcomes at the highest of levels and you are proven in driving and leading change and developing strategies, with people and partners, always on the journey
  • Have endless drive, determination, resilience, persistence and commitment - that inspires others, and are always ‘in it for the team’
  • Take a non-hierarchical approach: i.e. are prepared and comfortable getting your hands dirty as much as you are at performing the high-level business and relationship management aspects of the role
  • Are professionally mature: you inspire confidence, are incredibly commercial, and are motivated by driving a customer-led sales agenda
  • Fast, flexible and adaptable approach: You embrace change, and you can flex up and/or down easily as well as be able to have the courageous conversations whilst always keeping people on side
